The department offers programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Undergraduate students who wish to major in history choose from the Social Science Pre-Credential Option, for those who intend to pursue a career in teaching middle or high school, and the General History Option. At the graduate level, the department offers an MA in history designed for students who aspire to teach at a community college, enter a doctoral program, or simply seek advanced study in the discipline. The department also offers a certificate program in Public History.
